Passport is an official document that acts as proof of one’s citizenship at the same time allowing people to travel to and from countries. Follow the below steps to get passport issued for your newborn:
Step 1: If first-timers, get yourself registered on the Passport Seva Kendra portal first.
Step 2: For newborns or infants, you need not get an appointment beforehand. You can visit the passport seva kendra during their working hours with your application receipt.
Step 3: Carry the following sets of documents with you (original as well as photocopies):
Step 4: The next step will be document verification. Once that is done, a token number will be provided to you.
Step 5: As and when their turn comes, the verified documents will be scanned so as to make sure that the details in the documents stand correct.
Step 6: Some additional verifications may be conducted after this, following which the parents will be given an acknowledgement receipt post and the passport will be delivered to you.
